Native vine. The initial roughness is tamed during the long months of aging in small barrels and after maturation in bottle. It smells of berries and tart. Wonderful with red meat dishes.

Almost disappeared until a few decades ago, Pignolo has been re-planted in the “Colli Orientali del Friuli” by some curious and brave winemakers. We produce it from almost twenty years in small amounts, gradually increased thanks to the convincing results. It is a powerful wine, with strong tannins and great complexity. Aged for over 36 months in oak barrels and 4 months in bottle, aquires roundness and good longevity. The wine is ruby red, with intensity depending on the year. The aromas are full and fruity, with notes of cherry and ripe plum. The dry taste emphasizes hints of wild berries jam, aromatic spices and fruits in alcohol. It is an ideal match for red meats dishes and game.
