MAGNUM RÎUL - 2016
Rîul means water stream in our local language. It is a blend of red wines based on Merlot (60 per cent), combined with Refosco dal peduncolo rosso (20 per cent) and completed with a similar portion of Cabernet Sauvignon. The three grapes are vinified and elevated in French oak barriques separately. Only the final assemblage of the three will give life to our Rîul.
Rosso Friuli Colli Orientali DOC
Destemming of the grapes followed by a complete maceration with pumping over and punching down for a period that varies between 10 and 12 days. The racking occurs right after the end of the alcoholic fermentation.
The alcoholic and malolactic fermentation are completed in stainless steel containers. The three wines are elevated separately in French oak barrique and tonneau for over 30 months. The bottles are stored horizontally in air-conditioned rooms for at least six months before being sold.
Colour: ruby red.
Nose: morello cherry, plums, blueberries and hay with liquorice puffs, resin and balsamic notes.
Palate: the sip is soft and full thanks to velvety tannins.
Its elegance makes it suitable to accompany soups, main courses with sauces and meat-based second courses, including feathered and fur game. It is remarkable when paired with medium and long aged cheeses.
